Under normal circumstances we wouldn't respond to a review but we thought that in this instance it might help clarify the frequently asked question on our FAQs page about marks, nail holes and smoothness of finish, particularly on these driftwood style darts backboards..

Picture 1 below is the item listed in the shop and picture 2 is what the customer received and returned as damaged.

We would like to make it very clear to future customers that this is not damaged.

We've all seen laminate flooring and manufactured cladding that is made to look like this in pubs and shops but at Handmade Today UK we only use genuine, de-nailed reclaimed wood and it will have various marks and knot holes.

If you think either of the 2 backboards below look damaged you probably shouldn't be buying items made from reclaimed wood.

The customer has put a 'buyer beware' and 'disgraceful' in the review which we think is very unfair. We would counteract that with 'buyer please be aware of what you are buying'. The full refund was given without question, including the initial postage costs, all we didn't refund was the return postage because the item is not damaged.
